The American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Lubbock offers free, temporary housing facilities for out-of-town cancer patients who are undergoing treatments locally. The Hope Lodge provides a home-like, nurturing environment, so patients can get support from others going through the same experience. It is also a place where patients can learn about cancer and how best to fight the disease. Guests have access to the American Cancer Society’s 24-hour toll-free call center, Web site, and comprehensive on-site libraries full of information.
Hope Lodge has a laundry list of household items needed to keep everything running smoothly. The top 10 items always needed are: laundry detergent, bleach, food storage containers in various sizes, disposable napkins, paper towels, Styrofoam cups (10 oz), white copy paper, Kleenex, Lysol disinfectant spray and Sprayaway glass cleaner.
But this list is not inclusive of ALL their needs. Other things such as kitchen items, cleaning, laundry and office supplies are also needed.
